Secret Street Tours
Dublin Homeless Walking Tours
Welcome to Secret Street Tours!
We’re a non-profit social enterprise offering you a new way to discover the streets of Dublin through the eyes and experiences of someone who has been affected by homelessness.
Our unique, friendly and powerful tours are developed in partnership with our guides who will share their story with you as you explore the cultural and historic landmarks of their local area.
Our goal is to empower our guides with skills and confidence to take the next step toward independent living whilst offering our customers a channel to engage with one of Dublin’s most pressing social challenges.
People recorded as sleeping rough in Dublin during April 2019. Official rough sleeper count.
People using state-funded emergency accommodation as of April 2019. This includes 3,794 children.
People on the waitlist for social housing in Ireland.
Let us take you on a journey through the vibrant and colourful streets of Smithfield in Dublin 7.
Your guide, Shane, has a deep connection to the area having once called these streets home.
We’ll begin the tour outside Collin’s Barracks. Just up the steps from the Museum Luas Stop. From there, Shane will guide you through the streets, sharing his unique perspective and experiences of homelessness along the way.
We’ll wrap up the tour approximately 1 hour later opposite St. Mary of the Angels. Close by to the Luas and Smithfield square for you to continue your day exploring Dublin.
We hope to welcome you soon!
